Coaching & Teaching

Would you like one on one support, to help you build the kind of musical and prayer leadership you dream of?

As a coach, Rosalie works with soloists, cantors, rabbis and songleaders to strengthen prayer leading skills, repertoire and program planning, graceful engaging of the congregational voice,  or leading music with children and families. She also helps sacred partners create a worship vision together, develop a shared language of respect, and find new ways to approach thinking about deepening the spiritual life of the community.

Some ways Rosalie can work with you:

Engaging the Congregational Voice

Rosalie would support your growth to help the congregation engage more in repertoire for worship. Through techniques for sharing new settings with grace and prayerful integrity, as well as how to make choices about appropriate repertoire to deepen prayer, Rosalie will observe your leadership and suggest strategies for more dynamic musical prayer leadership.

Religious School Music Leading

Whether thinking about issues of curriculum, or how to engage students relationally while leading music, Rosalie will help you consider the repertoire and techniques needed to lead music rotations or meaningful tefillah in a religious school.

Solo Clergy Support

Many solo clergy require another sacred partner to help think about new repertoire, balancing melody and spoken word, or training and lifting up lay music leaders. Rosalie can help solo clergy look at their service content (for Shabbat or Holy Days) and consider ways to deepen the musical experience of prayer with limited resources.

Supervising Songleaders

As an expert in training songleaders in all settings, Rosalie can work with you or members of your staff to consider the best ways to support and nurture your songleaders to be successful music leaders and help them grow in their leadership.

Coaching programs must be a minimum of 4 sessions, to take place over 2 months.

Jonathan Goldstein, Central Synagogue, New York, NY

Rosalie gave our songleader Jonathan the confidence to work with students of all ages, particularly the older students with whom he had less experience. He was a bit overwhelmed by the volumes of classes and material he could offer, and Rosalie helped him organize the curriculum, find repertoire he needed and learn how best to present it.

Jonathan also did not have a deep background in Reform music and Rosalie helped him feel comfortable with where the movement is with music and prayer, particularly in school.

It was invaluable and we hope to continue to support our songleader with her help!
